17-18 School Year Admissions

We are still accepting applications for the 2017-18 school year, we currently have openings in the Mommy & Me Class, Preschool 3’s Class, Pre School 4’s, Pre K Counts and Long Wednesday Pre K.  Our Full Day Pre K Class currently has a waiting list. Our application can be found via our website, Facebook, or by requesting one from the school directly.  We still have scholarships available for the Pre K Counts class as well.  The Barber National Institute Scholarship Application was sent out via email the end of March.  Please contact the office if you need a hard copy of the application. This specific scholarship is good towards any of the Nursery School Classes.

Summer Camp

We have a few slots left for our summer camps, please complete an application today and turn in, so you may secure your spot.  There are 5 separate summer camps that run from 9am to 2pm, days of the week vary dependent on the specific camp.

Scholastic Book Fair and Coin Drive

The Scholastic Book Fair was held March 22nd-24th. Thanks to the many volunteers our Grand event was a huge success, it was great to see so many of our friends come out to shop!!!  The students were able to visit Clifford, enjoy s’mores trail mix, lemonade, campfire stories and camp craft stations.  The scholastic dollars we earned from the sales at the book fair will be used by teachers to by supplementary materials for their classrooms.

Thank you to everyone who donated change during our coin drive this year.   With your help the classrooms raised just over $200!!!! Teachers were able to supplement the curriculum with additional books from our Scholastic Book Fair.  The totals for each classroom were very close, so we had a popcorn party for all on Friday!  Thanks again for your ongoing support of the teachers and the Nursery School.

School Year End Date

The last day of school varies dependent on the class that your child is enrolled.  Tuesday/Thursday 3’s last class is Thursday, May 11th.  Long Wed, Full Day, Pre K Am and Pre K Pm (Private Paid Tuition students and Erie’s Future Fund) last day is Friday May 12th.  Children who are enrolled in the Pre K Counts! Program last day is June June 6th.

We have a small celebration for our students who will be going to kindergarten in the fall of 2017.  On May 12th children who are going to kindergarten in the fall will have a short graduation ceremony at 5:15 PM followed by the annual Family Art Show at 6:00 PM.  The graduation takes place in the church and pews will be decorated with a family name banner for you to sit at.  The children will perform a couple songs and receive graduation diplomas.

Family Art Show

On Friday May 12th from 6-7:30 come enjoy a fun evening at our Annual Family Art Show!  Bring your Family and Friends to see your student’s Work of Art.  Each Class did their own interpretation of a classic piece of art. There will be photo booths, crafts, live music, face painting, raffles, book readings, snacks, refreshments, and your child’s art will be on display in the Parish Hall.  Please volunteer to help with this event by signing up at the Nursery School Entrance during Drop-off/Pick-up.  We will be discussing the specifics of the event at the next Family Association Mtg. on Wednesday April 19th at 6 PM. If you are unable to attend the meeting but are interested in helping please contact the office, so you can get in touch with the Chair of the event.  Thank you.

 Guest Artist

Guest Artist Stephanie Chase will be joining us April 18th, 19th, and 21st to create one of a kind masterpieces with the children.  Each class will make their own replica of a famous piece of art.  The school will hold on to the artwork until the night of the Family Art Show, where it will be on display for all to see!

For the remainder of the school year enrichment will be offered on Fridays with Mrs. Montagna from 11:30-2:50.  Please sign up the Wednesday before your child will be attending, so Mrs. Montagna may plan accordingly for the craft project.  Enrichment is limited to 8 children per session and the cost to attend is $20 a session.
